FORMER Harambee Stars midfielder George Owino is at the centre of controversy after ditching Tanzanian club Simba Sports Club to pursue studies in USA.
Owino was reportedly cleared by Simba management to seek further education in America for a period of six months after which he shall rejoin the club.
But Simba officials have denied that they released Owino to leave for USA, adding that the player had been short listed in the squad for Tusker Challenge Cup that kicks off in Mwanza tomorrow.
