Mwanza police are holding six people including the region’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) political committee member over an alleged murder plot on former Busega MP Raphael Chegeni.
Information reaching The Citizen and confirmed by the region’s police commander, Mr Simon Sirro, said the six were arrested between April 13 and 17 following a tip off.
The information links the incumbent Busega MP, Dr Titus Kamani, through SMS and conversations among the six who have been arrested, including Dr Kamani’s relative, who is allegedly the coordinator of the plot.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Dr Kamani denied having any information regarding the matter, including the arrest of his relative over the plot.
