Mwanza. The city council here will today start removing small traders from areas around the city to allocated areas which authorities claim to be healthier and business friendly.
The decision to move the traders was reached over the weekend during a councillors’ meeting held here at the Mwanza City Hall, with Mahina Ward councillor Charles Chinchibela, heaping blames on city officials for withholding areas which were allocated for small traders.
The city council in collaboration with leaders of small traders had since last year, prepared a plan that would facilitate better business environments for the traders in a move that aimed to promote peace and harmony between city officials and small traders. (Sheilla Sezzy).
