NINE countries have confirmed participation in the second Mwanza East Africa Trade Fair which opens in the city on August 31, the Chairman of Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Mwanza chapter, Mr Amran Batenga, told the 'Daily News' yesterday.

Mr Batenga said the fair, which seeks to promote commerce in what is perceived to the central area of the Great Lakes Region, will attract countries beyond the East African Community (EAC). “This is a second biggest Tanzanian international trade fair after the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair. That is why we have invited many foreign countries outside the EAC,” he said.
