The government intends to revive a facility for training experts in the leather industry in Mwanza City.
With this in view, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Marketing yesterday handed over such a facility to the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology.
At the function, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, Mr Florence Turuka, said leather technology had a few local experts. This is what had prompted the government to revive the training facility in a bid to groom more experts in the field, he said.
He explained that the facility would be affiliated to the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT).
