THE second edition of the Rocky City Marathon to be held at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza tomorrow is expected to attract 3,000 athletes, the race organizers said on Friday.

The event co-ordinator Raymond Kanyambo said all preparations ahead of Sunday’s showdown are well on place and that the registration exercise officially opened on Friday and will go on until today evening.

“There is a good response of people, we expect around 3,000 participants, we’re looking for a successful event,” Kanyambo said yesterday.

He said as of Friday, nine regions had already confirmed to participate in the race. He named the regions as Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Manyara, Mara, Mwanza, Singida, Kigoma, Tabora and Rukwa.
