Police arrest driver of ill-fated Mwanza bus

THE DRIVER of the Mwanza-bound bus that overturned and caught fire leaving at least 17 people dead and 47 others injured in Singida region on Friday has been arrested, the police have said.

Kharibu Jordan (42) was behind the wheel of the fateful Scania bus belonging to Mohamed Trans. He is being detained for interrogation.

Acting Regional Police Commander Lawrent Tarimo told the Sunday News that most of the dead bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
