TAIFA Stars head coach Marcio Maximo was full of praises for his boys after holding Lions of Teranga 1-1 yesterday in Mwanza.

"I am proud of my boys and I believe all Tanzanians are proud of this team. Senegal were favourites but we showed what we are capable of," said Maximo. He added: "We deserved victory, but we still have a chance to reach Ghana next year provided we collect three points from the match against Burkina Faso."

The Senegal Polish coach, Henry Kasperczak, also admitted that the ball possession shown by Taifa Stars indicated that the Tanzanian team lacked confidence during the first leg tie in Senegal when Taifa Stars lost 4-0.
