Appeals Court sets free Mwanza robbery with violence appellant

The Tanzania Court of Appeal recently sitting in Mwanza quashed decisions of the lower courts and set free an appellant in a robbery with violence appeal.

The decision to set free the appellant was delivered in respect of Criminal Appeal No.69 of 2005 by the Court`s panel comprising Justices Damian Lubuva, John Mroso and Rutakangwa.

The appellant, Said Chaly Scania, had appealed against the judgment by the Resident Magistrate`s Court (Appellate Extended Jurisdiction) in Tabora ruled on January 19, 2004 in a Criminal Appeal No.5 of 2003.
