Kenya, Tanzania to host CHOGM flights

KENYA and Tanzania will accommodate any excessive flights at Entebbe International Airport during Commonwealth meeting, MPs heard yesterday.

“Airports in Nairobi and Mwanza will be accessible to Uganda during the period of CHOGM,” Loi Kiryapawo, the chairperson of the committee on foreign affairs, said.

The initiative, she said, would demonstrate the unity of the countries.

Up to 5,000 visitors, including the Queen of England, are expected for the high profile meeting. Entebbe Airport is currently undergoing a major rehabilitation.
