Tanzanian teachers blast IMF, WB for misleading government

Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) Tanzania Teachers’ Union (TTU) has accused the World Bank and International Monetary Fund for “misleading” their government in the development of education in the country.

TTU president Gratian Mukoba told APA over telephone from the lake side Mwanza region that the two institutions have over the years provided financial assistance with stiff conditions and giving government erroneous advice on the education sector.

Mukoba was in Mwanza attending a two-day TTU seminar attended by districts and regional education experts and officials at the weekend.
