THE Spanish government has shown interest in financing a power supply project in Hungumalwa, Ilula, Mwamashimba, Kikubiji and Shilima villages in Kwimba District. The 12bn/- project, would serve ginneries at Mwalujo (Lintex) and Sangu (Afrisia).
This was said in the National Assembly yesterday by the Deputy Minister for Energy and Minerals, Mr William Mganga Ngeleja, while responding to a question by Mr Bujiku Philip Sakila (Kwimba - CCM).
The deputy minister said Kwimba was one of the districts in Mwanza Region that lacked electricity. He said Misungwi and Ngudu townships get electricity through a 33KV power line extending from Nyakato substation in Mwanza city.
