Twenty firms have been passed to buy cotton in Mwanza region for the 2006 season which starts a fortnight from now. Three were denied licenses, Agricultural Advisor in the Regional Secretariat, Ndalo Kulwijila said yesterday.
He said Simon Agency and Nsagali, which had applied to buy the crop in Magu district as well as Kahama Oil Mill, which wanted to buy the crop in Sengerema and Geita districts, were denied licenses because they owed the Secretary of the Private Schools Board colossal sums of money in outstanding education levy.
