UKEREWE: Kikwete supports school

PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has pledged to support the construction of sports ground for a school in Ukerewe District and provide sports gear for the school teams.

The newly-built Ilangala Secondary School has no playground for its students, which prompted the president to promise the support, when he visited the school on Thursday.

Kikwete said he would offer each of the 21 secondary schools in the district a set of jersey and two footballs. President Kikwete is in Mwanza for a ten-day official tour where he would visit all districts in the region. Already, the president has visited Ilemela, Ukerewe and Magu districts.
